Photovoltaic Systems

We all know what a Photovoltaic System is, we see them everywhere, on house roofs, installed in some agricultural fields, we see light poles with small panels that capture the sun, but how does a Photovoltaic System really work?

It starts with the panel, and the choice of panel is very important. The panels are made up of crystalline silicon cells (with all the crystals facing the same direction), polycrystalline silicon (with the crystals facing in various directions), or amorphous silicon (a non-crystalline allotrope doped with hydrogen). We will choose a crystalline panel in an area where there is no haze, such as in the mountains or southern Italy, a polycrystalline panel in the plains, especially in the Po Valley, or an amorphous panel if we have shaded areas or areas facing north.

Another very important component is the Inverter, which transforms the direct current generated by the panel into alternating current, synchronizing with the same phase supplied by Enel to the meter.

During daylight production hours, the energy produced and fed into the home network serves our uses, and if produced in excess compared to our consumption, the difference is sold to the National electricity grid through the G.S.E. (Gestore dei Servizi Elettrici - Electricity Services Manager) and paid at market value.

Cascasi Energy has built several Photovoltaic Systems of different production capacities, we are at your disposal to assess your needs and the economic return.
